Tracks that make you want to dance?

Main Post:

I am looking for tracks that are impossible not to dance to. Songs that bury themselves in your soul and make you move your feet.

Also, I am not a huge fan of hyped-up stuff. I am looking for authentically good tracks that have a groove so strong that all the cats and dogs will move back and forth until the third Tuesday in December.

For a frame of reference I've recently been listening to a lot of after hours techno and berghain style stuff. I also occasionally listen to some harder techno. Artists like nthng, Recondite, Klock, Theorem, Jeff Mills, Cleric, IHateModels, Johannes Heil, and a bunch of mixes from artists at Berghain. Problem is that a lot of the after hours stuff (like nthng) isn't super great for non-warm up sets. They don't usually have a ton of energy I guess. I tend to enjoy more minimal styles, but can appreciate non-minimal.

edit: Thank you everyone!!

Top Comment: Damn this is tough, so many suggestions come to mind, so i'll try to keep it concise and only use tracks that are special to me (and ones that are actually uploaded online). Mind you this is based off of my personal experience DJing, so take these suggestions with a grain of salt, but here are some tracks that have created memorable moments for me behind the booth. Some classic late night floorfillers: (some are more housey but still) Anthony Shakir - Travellers (Mrsk Remix) LoSoul - Open Door Vizar - The Time Stardub - The Source Voiski - Draw Back Your Bow Harder, Berghain type stuff: Answer Code Request - Zeitspielraum Edit Select - Aurian Blue Hour - Averting Artefakt - Mirage (Rework) Geinst - Self Sufficient Shlømo - Avadon Pt. 2 Stenny - Consumer's Tool Trippy, out there shit that goes HARD: Rrose - Emboli Speedy J - Shoegaze (Edit Select Reviset) Polar Inertia - Sonic Outlaws Voices from the Lake - Zulu Vortex Set/night closers Andrea - Outlines Avatism - Self Control DIN - Conclusion Alright I should stop now, I could go on forever Edit: Also here's a random Denis Sulta track, even though it's not techno at all, just because I DARE you not to dance to this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kfzWt8NYaA

Want to dance in college but not major in it, looking for something beyond open club level?

Main Post:

Hello! I’m a senior in high school applying to colleges right now.

I want to be able to still dance at a technically high level in college but I’m aiming to major in journalism/communications. Ideally I would like to have ballet/contemporary performance opportunities and regular classes, perhaps an audition-based company affiliated with the school?

Does anyone have recommendations or know of a program that fits what i’m looking for?

Top Comment: I would recommend looking at colleges with dance minors - I did one alongside my chemistry degree and loved it. Minors don't require an overwhelming amount of credits, but still show faculty that you are committed and can leave doors open for more dance opportunities after college.

I really want to dance but I'm too embarrassed

Main Post:

[Light]—for less serious confessions. My whole life I've played it off like I don't like to dance because I'm embarrassed and afraid I'm going to look stupid. So now I never dance at weddings or parties or anything because I "don't dance" but I really want to sometimes.

Top Comment:

I always dance alone at home, I watch myself dance in the mirror, practice my moves, check to see if I look stupid or not. I also watch others dance, usually it helps me relax about it because there is always someone that looks more stupid than you.
